A Time of Transition
The Minnesota Food Charter Network is in a time of transition. As you may have heard, the network does not currently have any formal staff. A group of committed network partners have been working together as part of a Transition Team to develop a plan for re-engaging ALL Minnesota food advocates to re-imagine the future of the network.
So far, we have been reviewing the results of a year-long evaluation of the Minnesota Food Charter Network. We’ve heard loud and clear that people want to feel more ownership over the network. We have been most energized when talking about the following ways to make this a reality in partnership with you by:
- Finding new and innovative ways of operating a large statewide network that allows for a deep sense of ownership and shared purpose.
- Strengthening relationships between EVERYONE working in the food system.
- Sponsoring gatherings that center on equity in the food system.
- Supporting new leaders across the state, especially Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, and others committed to an equitable food system.
We welcome your engagement in shaping the future direction of the Minnesota Food Charter Network. Stay tuned for an update later this Summer for an opportunity to weigh in about ideas for engaging all of you in re-imagining the future of the Network.
We are looking forward to a future co-created with YOU!
Best,
